Non-partisan · Evidence-based · Action-oriented
Progress Labs builds campaigns that cut through political noise and focus on one thing: making the future better. We identify where the system is broken, build the evidence, and mobilise people to fix it.
About Progress Labs
"The left and the right argue over who drives. We're here to fix the road."— Progress Labs Manifesto
Progress Labs is an independent campaign studio. We exist to identify policies and systems that are demonstrably holding people back — regardless of which political tribe supports or opposes them — and build the public pressure needed to change them.
We don't endorse parties or candidates. We don't have a left-wing or right-wing agenda. We have one agenda: things that work. Our campaigns are grounded in evidence, designed for reach, and built to win.
From student debt to housing, healthcare to infrastructure, we find the places where political gridlock is costing ordinary people the most — and we act.
Our Projects
The UK's student loan system is a fiscal and moral failure — graduates repay far more than they borrowed for decades. We're making the case for a better model that funds higher education without saddling a generation with debt that barely functions as a loan at all.
Visit campaign →Britain's planning system has calcified. The result is a chronic shortage of homes, rising rents, and communities unable to grow. We're building a campaign for planning reform grounded in evidence, not ideology.
Coming soonPublic investment in basic science is among the highest-return spending a government can make. We're exploring the case for dramatically expanding research budgets and reforming how grants are allocated.
In researchHow We Work
Step 01
We look for systems where the evidence of harm is clear and bipartisan action is theoretically possible but politically blocked. High-leverage, high-neglect.
Step 02
Rigorous research, accessible writing, and honest numbers. We make the evidence undeniable — for policymakers, journalists, and the public alike.
Step 03
We build coalitions across the political spectrum, design campaigns for organic reach, and sustain pressure until something changes. Then we measure whether it did.
Get Involved
We're always looking for the next campaign — and the people to build it with. Whether you're a researcher, campaigner, designer, or just someone with a great idea, we'd love to hear from you.
